Characteristics: Stems often prostrate, hairy, with milky sap
Leaves: Opposite, simple, 5-1" long, elliptic, often blotched red, toothed along margin
Flowers: Inconspicuous, tiny, in head-like clusters
Flowering Season: All year
Fruits: Tiny, splitting into 3, 1-seeded segments
Allergenic Components: Milky juice in all parts
Allergenic Properties: Dermatological
Comments: The milky juice of this weedy herb causes skin irritation in sensitive individuals.Suspected of causing sickness to cows in Australia. May have toxicity similar to Euphorbia spp.
